DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers rattled off 12 hits during a 10-3 win over the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park Thursday afternoon.
Willi Castro and Javy Baez each went deep in the victory, and Tucker Barnhart finished with three hits. Castro, however, left early with a hamstring strain and will sit out the rest of the season.
Eduardo Rodriguez earned his fifth win after tossing six-and-two-thirds scoreless innings.
Detroit has won six in a row.
Jonathan Heasley was charged with his ninth loss after surrendering four earned runs and one unearned run in four-and-two-thirds innings. Kansas City has dropped four of five.
The Tigers host the Minnesota Twins starting tonight in their final home series. The opening pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.
