OKEMOS, MI — The Meridian Township Fire Department has completed their fire investigation involving the structural components of two buildings at Knob Hill Apartments in Okemos.
The fire on Dec. 21, 2022, destroyed two apartment buildings. During the recovery efforts, a person was located deceased inside one of the buildings. The deceased was previously identified as 52-year-old Raymond Naseef of Okemos.
After an assessment of the scene and collecting witness statements, the Meridian Township Fire Marshal determined the origin of the fire was on a couch in a garden level apartment.
“Although the cause of the fire is undetermined, there were no signs of suspicious activity,” stated Fire Marshal Tavis Millerov in a press release.
