LANSING, MI — Five people are still hospitalized after being shot at a Fourth of July party in a parking lot in south Lansing. The shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. yesterday in a parking lot in the 65-hundred block of Mercantile Way near Interstate 96. The parking lot sets behind the Bell Tire on Pennsylvania Ave.
Police say no arrests have been made. Three victims are in stable condition, but two are in critical condition. Police are not sure what events precipitated the shooting.
In what police believe is an unrelated shooting in the city, four men were shot and injured along Washington Square in downtown Lansing early Tuesday morning. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. this morning.
