JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Suicide Prevention Coalition (JCSPC) will host its annual Stomp Out Suicide event Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The event is at Cascades-Sparks Park’s New Urban Fishery-My Five Pavilion. It brings community members together to honor lives lost to suicide, support survivors and families, reduce stigma, and connect people with suicide prevention education and local resources, according to a press release.
Stomp Out Suicide is designed to remind people throughout Jackson County that they do not have to navigate difficult times alone, according to the press release. The family-friendly event creates opportunities for people of all ages to learn, connect, remember loved ones, practice self-care, and discover organizations and resources available in the community.
Registration is $15 and includes a Stomp Out Suicide T-shirt, activities to honor and remember those who struggle or have been lost to suicide, opportunities to share stories, door prizes, community resources, and suicide prevention training.
