GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Two men from Mason and one from Grand Rapids each face up to ten years in prison after the pled guilty in the staged robbery of a courier van that had one-point-two million dollars in cash.
Twenty-seven-year-old Paschal Uchendu was employed by Empyreal Logistics as a van driver and staged the heist. Stephen Uchendu of Mason and Todd Harris Jr. of Grand Rapids received 25-thousand-dollars each for the robbery in Okemos when Paschal Uchendu told police he stopped the van when an SUV behind him flashed their bright lights at him.
Authorities say they estimate 700-thousand-dollars has still not been recovered.
