LANSING, MI — The Red Kettles are coming out this Friday. The Lansing Capital Area Salvation Army will kick off it’s Christmas fundraising season November 14th at 28 kettle locations in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
A goal of $900,000 has been set with $135,000 being raised at its local kettle storefront locations and the balance by mail in donations, according to a press release.
Volunteer Bell Ringers are needed to assist in manning our storefront locations across the tri-county area. Church, civic and corporate groups as well as families and individuals can volunteer to ring. Funds raised locally are used immediately to supplement a Christmas meal and toys for families and seniors. Funds are also used year-round to provide basic necessities of life including food, personal needs and household products; on-site hot meals are served 4 days a week; seasonal rent and utility assistance and other needs for residents and homeless citizens of Michigan.
