LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The race for governor in Michigan in November is between Democrat Jocelyn Benson and Republican John James.
Benson is the current Secretary of State and defeated Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson in Tuesday’s primary.
James is currently the 10th District Congressman in suburban Detroit, and he defeated businessman Perry Johnson in the primary.
Former Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox and state Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt of Van Buren County were also still on the GOP gubernatorial primary ballot, but both ended their campaigns earlier this summer.
